A Walk in the Woods

There is a little strip of forest that runs from Marland through D.C. and into Virginia.  It's call Rock Creek Park and it's one of my favorite things about this area.  We're less than a mile from the park and once you step into it you forget about the traffic and the concrete of the city and are suddenly surrounded by trees and ferns and a rippling river.  The greenery is so lush that you can easily imagine that you're deep in the forest.  Miles loves walking in the woods.  There are endless trees for him to mark and he just LOVES to leave his mark! Now that Beckett is a bit older and can go on outside adventures we've reintroduced the Walk in the Woods and we're finding that Beckett is almost as enthusiastic about them as Miles is. We had him in the carrier and even though it was his nap time and he usually falls asleep when he is carried, he stayed awake the whole time.  He was so enthralled with the trees and the leaves that he couldn't stop staring.  It was really cute to watch him.

He's got very good control of his head now and can look all around.  He was totally enjoying himself.   He is starting to squeal when he laughs now.  It's so cute, I'll have to try to record it so you can all hear.  He's a big boy now...15.4lbs and 25 inches at our last visit (Tuesday).
Baby boy Beckett and his mama out in the woods.  :)
