Swimming in the Sea

I recently took a trip to Guam and was accompanied by my travel pal Beckett.  He was a great little traveler and seemed to enjoy all the new sights, sounds and people.  A chunky, white baby seemed to be somewhat of a novelty there and we had lots of Japanese tourists come up to us and comment on the super kabai (cute) baby.  One couple even asked if they could take pictures of him.  It was fun to travel with him.

One of our adventures was a hike to a beautiful little bay known as Cetti Bay in the South of Guam.  Beckett made it through a pretty grueling hike through the "bad lands"(places that have been repeatedly burned and therefore don't have much vegetation) and then down through the jungle without a peep of protest.  He actually seemed to enjoy it quite a bit.
I carried him in the Bjorn.  He loves that thing and would ride around in in all day if I let him. He was totally alert on the way down to the bay, looking at the trees and the landscape but by the time we started hiking up the hill he was completely tuckered out and slept the whole way!

This was the first time that Beckett got into the ocean.  (He did dip a toe into the Pacific on Maui when he was 6 weeks old-but that doesn't really count.)  He totally loved it!  He sat happily there looking around and waving his feet back and forth in the water.  Beckett is getting to be a big boy, weighing in at ~18lbs. at 4 1/2 months.

After our swim, Beckett was pretty tired.  He took a nice nap on the towel at the beach.  Ahh, doesn't he look peaceful?

Here we (Megan, Beckett and Marci) are enjoying a completely deserted tropical beach.  It was definitely one of those "postcard" moments.  We were all happy to get into the water after the hike.  It was a warm day and the ocean was perfect: calm, shallow and refreshing.  We sat in the water with an umbrella for shade for about an hour.
